The needles are longer on lower branches and shorter on upper branches. Growing only a few inches per year it develops a broad pyramidal form. If left to grow naturally it takes on the typical pyramid shape seen in many conifers. This is a high maintenance tree that will require regular care and upkeep.

Baby blue spruce trees are an improved strain of the colorado blue spruce tree. Baby blue is a mid sized spruce that reaches heights of between 15 and 20 feet and usually spans anywhere from six to ten feet across. Its average texture blends into the landscape but can be balanced by one or two finer or coarser trees or shrubs for an effective composition. The baby blue eyes spruce is a selected form of the of colorado spruce picea pungens.
